Started in 2022, Utilita Giving provides grants to voluntary sector organisations, who can alleviate and prevent suffering and hardship caused by fuel and food poverty.

We raise awareness about this issue and enlist the public’s support in fundraising campaigns. Supported by our Patrons David James (ex-England footballer) and Adam Scorer (Chief Executive of National Energy Action), there is huge potential for this small but mighty charity to become a household name.

We are seeking an experienced Donor and Stakeholder Engagement Officer, who has a proven track record in fundraising and effectively engaging donors and stakeholders to support a charitable cause.

You will be successful in submitting Tenders, Grant Applications, Bids etc. and competently engaging with high-net-worth individuals and corporate donors. You will be highly organised, numerically proficient and be great at building effective relationships.

You’ll be part of a small team, reporting into the Executive Director, however we work with a diverse stakeholder network of other charities and the general public, therefore you will have excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

We generally work remotely, but you will be required to come into the Chandlers Ford office once a month for meetings.

The Supporter Donations Queries Team at Macmillan are looking for x2 Supporter Donations Assistants to play their part in helping Macmillan's supporters and stakeholders do whatever it takes for people living with cancer. We have two roles available within our Supporter Donations Queries Team. Whether you are a recent graduate looking to gain customer care experience within a large, complex, and successful charity or you are seasoned supporter/customer care or administrational professional looking to broaden your experience and are keen to contribute to the work of a busy, friendly, and high-performing team, or whether you are looking to change your career and have the skills needed to excel in a customer service role, we want to hear from you.

You’ll be processing high volumes of income and inputting donations on our income system, resolving queries from our supporters & internal stakeholders, sending personalised thank you letters and helping to process Gift Aid sponsorship forms. You will liaise with stakeholders across the organisation including our Finance team, colleagues across Supporter Care, Relationship Fundraising Managers and product teams in order to accurately thank and process supporter donations received by Macmillan across all channels. Including processing online event registrations & donations, revalidating eligible Gift Aid, cleansing data and addressing all queries related to donations. You will be delivering recognisable, high quality Macmillan experiences in line with Brand and Strategy guidelines and messaging. 

Initial training is due to be delivered in the London office - arrangements to be discussed dependent on contractual location.

The Role

The PR Manager plays a central role, working closely with the Head of Media to manage the public relations function of the charity. You will be responsible for helping to develop and execute prominent and high impact national and regional media campaigns, to help people better understand the mission and take action to support it.

Your main duties and responsibilities include:

· Generate regular, positive, proactive media coverage

· Proactively sell stories into the media as well as react to incoming enquiries

· Work with the Head of Media to develop impactful press strategies in line with the wider PR strategy

The Role

Based either at our Head Office in Basingstoke, Hampshire, remotely or hybrid, you will lead and manage the development and delivery of income growth from corporate partnerships.

In this fast-paced and exciting role, you’ll be proactively identifying and securing new partnerships, whilst nurturing and maintaining existing relationships. Working with the wider engagement and fundraising team, you will ensure donors receive the best experience and an integrated and joined up fundraising plan is delivered.

About You

We’re looking for an enthusiastic manager with knowledge and experience of corporate account management and new business development. You will be experienced working in a fundraising environment and managing key fundraising projects.

You will need to be confident communicator, calm under pressure and keen to evidence the success of your work through data analysis, you will be able to adapt your approach to suit different audiences.

Main purpose and scope of the role:

To support and work in collaboration with our lead designer at Parentkind to: 

• Develop, implement and maintain a new brand for Parentkind
• Create best-in-class design of print and digital assets, including magazines, guides, videos, website, campaign and social media assets
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders providing creative and innovative design support for Parentkind projects 

Duties and key responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Lead Designer at Parentkind

1.Design:

• Champion the Parentkind brand across all designed assets and activities to ensure brand integrity and consistency
• Design assets which will include but are not limited to; print and digital magazines, guides, social assets, email designs, web assets, video content and PowerPoint templates
• Contribute creatively to large campaigns and activities ensuring that we are delivering best in-class and impactful design, that effectively represents and promotes our vision
• Conduct thorough quality checks on deliverables to ensure accuracy

2.Project management:

• Lead on the delivery of design activity such as guides, social and email campaigns, ensuring that design work is delivered to time and allows for revisions, sign-off and launch deadlines
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively
• Assist in managing and organising design assets, including image libraries, templates and project files

3.Collaboration:

• Work with the lead designer at Parentkind to support on projects, refine design outputs and deliver work within the Parentkind brand and to deadlines
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that design work meets the objectives of the relevant projects and is done so within the Parentkind brand

 

4.Continuous learning:

• Work with others across the organisation as well as independently to understand our key audiences so that the work delivered is audience-focussed
• Stay informed of the latest design trends, technologies and best practises so that Parentkind’s work is forward-thinking and impactful

General Responsibilities

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is seeking a Communications Officer (Media) with sharp news sense to join our growing team. The successful candidate will bring talent, enthusiasm, and relevant knowledge and experience to support press and social media strategies and communications across the entire global organisation. The role sits in our global communications team, working with, and reporting to, the Head of Communications. We are a small, high-performing team tasked with increasing the media and social media coverage of BHRRC’s analysis and key findings, as well as supporting and amplifying the efforts of our partners on the ground that are fighting to achieve justice and remedies for victims of abuse.

Responsibilities

The Communications Officer (Media) will have a particular focus on increasing international media coverage of BHRRC’s work and research, and the activities of our partners, including in the field of labour rights. Responsibilities will include:

Drive a proactive and strategic press approach: Spot opportunities for high impact coverage in target outlets, building on existing press lists, develop relationships with priority journalists, and create and pitch compelling content to media, including media advisories, press releases and related materials.

Develop high-impact communications products, synthesising complex research and data sets: Work with our Global Team to develop materials which speak to our key audiences. Develop key messages for our priority programmes and also discrete outputs including individual briefings and research reports.

Contribute to organisational and project communications strategies and planning: Support the Head of Communications to implement our communications strategy. Advise project managers on strategic communications and support launch project planning. Keep our planning calendar up to date and help ensure deadlines are met.

Produce well-written content: Write and edit channel-appropriate content for our audiences. Support the Global Team to produce high-quality and newsworthy reports, op-eds and blogs.

Support digital outputs: Support the Web Content and Senior Digital Officers as appropriate, creating content for our digital platform and social media platforms (including priority platforms LinkedIn and Twitter).

Support the communications team: Provide on-call cover for the media line, with occasional infrequent out of hours work, and share admin jobs.

Key competencies and attributes

Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in a communications role, including working in a busy press office, communications department or as a journalist.

Media: Sharp news sense and editorial judgement; ability to conceive, craft and pitch news stories and carry out fast reactive work. Knowledge of and experience of working with the mainstream media, including knowledge of the editorial positions, audiences, and sections or programmes of key outlets. In addition, ideally, knowledge of international business media or media in some specific countries or regions.

Relationship building: Track record of developing relationships with journalists on key issues. Any existing contacts of relevance to BHRRC’s work a bonus.

For-impact communications: Excellent understanding of how strategic communications can work with research and advocacy approaches to achieve change. Proven ability to synthesis and communicate complex and sensitive information; understanding of how to tailor content to different audiences, contexts and channels. Outstanding written English and good oral communications ability.

Project management: Track record of leading and/or implementing complex projects including planning (timelining), execution and evaluation of lessons learned.

Strategic thinking: Track record of helping to develop successful communications strategies to effect change. Experience tailoring communications products for diverse international audiences an asset.

Supporting staff: Enthusiasm for supporting colleagues with communications. Experience supporting staff either through training, coaching or assisting with media advice an asset.

Team player: Experience of, and commitment to, working in high-performing teams that are highly collaborative and focused on outcomes. Experience of working with colleagues remotely, and in multicultural and diverse cultures and working environments also desirable.

Knowledge of human rights issues: A strong interest in international issues and familiarity with social justice issues desirable.

Languages: Must be fluent in English. Additionally Japanese or Spanish in particular, and/or French, Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, or Russian language skills would also be an asset.
